Smart Water Technologies
Thanks for your interest in upgrading your current irrigation system with some of these Water Smart Technologies. These technologies are designed with one purpose in mind, to make your new or exisiting irrigation system as efficient as possible.
Sub-surface Irrigation, Water Conservation at its Best
Until recently, spraying your valuable water into the air and hoping it landed where it was aimed was all we could hope for. Recent advances in subsurface irrigation technology and installation techniques have changed all this. Subsurface irrigation provides the precise amount of water needed directly to the root growth area of your lawn around 5 inches below ground. Evaporation from the sun and wind is dramatically reduced and run-off is completely eliminated because the water is delivered directly to the soil. There is even sub-surface tubing developed specifically for our clay soils that restricts the amount of water released.
It is in everyone's best interest to conserve water whenever possible. A subsurface system can save from 30 to 70 percent in lawn water usage (enough water to fill 335 bath tubs), which benefits both the environment, and your bank account. If upgrading your irrigation system is in the plans, give a subsurface system a good look and give the Water Conservation Experts at Hunt Irrigation a call to learn more.
SMART Controllers: Science Meets Sprinklers
A "SMART" Controller Gathers Weather Data on Site and Continuously Self-Adjusts to Calculate the Ideal Program for Your Lawn and Landscape.
Take the guess work out of irrigation scheduling by using your own state-of-the-art weather "SMART" controller to track your local weather conditions and automatically calculate your scientific irrigation watering schedule!
"SMART" controllers work by monitoring information about site conditions like soil moisture, rain, wind, slope, soil type and plant material, and applying the right amount of water to the lawn and landscape. Once the "SMART" controller is installed, it automatically takes care of seasonal, weather, and site specific adjustments, and eliminates on-going monitoring by the homeowner or property manager. The results are a dramatic savings in your water bill (30%, on average), healthier root zones, and a healthy environment thanks to your participation in conserving our most precious natural resource WATER.

Save Money by Not Watering when it is Raining
Simple, Accurate, Durable and Reliable, the Rain Sensor
There is nothing more inefficient, wasteful, or costly than an irrigation system that is watering while it's raining. Rain sensors are one of the most reliable, and effective ways to inhibit an irrigation system from watering when the ground is already wet. It easily installs on any automatic irrigation system and through its proven technology automatically compensates for the rainfall amount. As the moisture-laden disks expand, they eventually activate a switch that interrupts the circuit from the controller to the solenoid valves. Once dry, they contract and release the switch. Rain sensors automatically reset without ever affecting your controller. There's no better way to ensure that a system isn't watering when it isn't necessary.
Pressure Regulated Spray Heads (PRS)
Use 30% Less Water and Keep your Lawn and Landscape Healthier
Does your irrigation system seem to add more moisture to the humidity level than to your lawn and landscape? Misting is one of the greatest wastes of water in a sprinkler system. Pressure Regulated Spray Heads can save enough water to fill a private swimming pool and operate 30% more efficiently than a regular spray head. They also restrict water loss by up to 70% if the nozzle is damaged. Your sprinkler system can be easily upgraded to pressure regulated spray heads. Call Hunt Irrigation, Inc The Water Smart Company today to begin saving both water and money.
Multi-Stream Rotors, Lower Water Use better Results
The MP Rotator's multiple, rotating streams are fascinating to watch. But form follows function in a quality irrigation product, so each MP Rotator stream is designed to complement its partners. The MP Rotator's wind-resistant, multi-trajectory streams apply water much more slowly and uniformly than conventional misters and sprays, especially after being properly adjusted. The MP Rotator uses 15-20% less water than a conventional rotor. That's enough water to do 240 dishwasher cycles. The MP Rotator offers exceptional coverage (matched precipitation) and prevents unwanted wet spots and ugly brown spots from appearing during the heat of the summer.
As our population grows, but our sources of water do not, there will be less of the wet stuff to go around. Never before has water conservation seemed so important. To that end, Hunt Irrigation has assembled a family of products that makes it possible for you to create a more efficient irrigation system. In fact, no other contractor offers such a wide array of "Water Smart" components and practices as Hunt Irrigation, The Water Smart Company.
